NICE "Christians"

Ok, back to the picture...
"Nice" is a very tricky thing. Some Christians are nice because they were born that way; some are nice because they have ulterior motives...some are nice, because God made them nice when they got saved-but this is frighteningly rare. In my 47 years, and 20+ years of being a "Christian" I have yet to see people truly change for the better. Usually they replace one bad thing about them with something else that is different, but just as bad.

Nice, is something that most people can, and usually do pull off. But genuinely loving? Walking in the shoes of another? that takes empathy and you do not need empathy to be "nice". You need empathy to fulfill Jesus' commandment that we are to love our neighbor as ourselves.

This means, we put ourselves in the place of another and ask, "What would I want done to me?" it has NOTHING to do with how we "feel" about ourselves or how we view our selves as a person. Many times, "low self-esteem" is just an excuse to avoid reaching out and walking in the shoes of our neighbor.
